Required Documents for Entry
To Return to the United States
You must have one of the following to re-enter the US:

- US Passport Card — accepted at land border crossings (not valid for air travel).
- Enhanced Driver's License (EDL) — accepted from participating states (WA, MI, MN, NY, VT).
- SENTRI Card — trusted traveler program card (expedited crossing).
- Global Entry Card — also accepted at land borders.
Important: Your document must be valid and not expired. Expired documents will not be accepted.
For Children
- Children under 16 traveling with parents can use a birth certificate or naturalization certificate.
- Children 16 and older need a passport or passport card.
- If a child is traveling with only one parent, a notarized consent letter from the other parent is strongly recommended.
For Non-US Citizens
- Permanent residents need a valid Green Card plus their passport.
- Visa holders should verify their visa allows re-entry to the US after visiting Mexico.
- Canadian citizens need a valid passport.
